Altamira provided design and construction documents. The site design concept focuses on the LEED Green Building design criteria which includes:
Water from the roof is channeled to the rain garden via a system of gravel rills where sculptural cisterns collect and overflow with each rain event. The hardscape and landscape work together with the building to create an interesting blend of man made and natural systems that improve our living environment. Construction to be completed Fall 2005. |

| Altamira was retained to review the campus-wide Master Plan, and prepare design studies for target areas. Two conceptual plans which met program requirements were presented to the campus community for consensus building. The plans include establishment of entry gateways, monument signage, enhanced pedestrian circulation throughout campus, this was accomplished by the removal of vehicular circulation in the heart of campus. The University Community Center Plaza design connects the UCC with the new Technology Enhanced Learning Center. Altamira provided services from conceptual design through construction administration. | |||

This project combines historic preservation and urban revitalization. The existing historic railroad depot has been renovated to serve as a visitor’s center and the surrounding area was reconfigured to serve as a pedestrian plaza and amphitheater. The space is programmed to serve festival crowds and to provide a green space that fits the existing urban fabric. The Depot is listed on the National Historic Register, which requires the review and approval of the State Historical Preservation Office. The 1.2-acre site is within the CSX railroad and GADOT right of way which both required that certain safety elements be incorporated within the design. |

| A 510-unit loft apartment project located in Cabbagetown a historic district in the City of Atlanta. Altamira worked with the developer from feasibility analysis through design development and construction administration. Altamira developed conceptual site plans for approval by the City and the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). These plans were amended to reflect the comments by the City and SHPO and submitted for permitting. Altamira directed the civil engineer for this project and was responsible for all work outside the buildings. The project is being developed in three phases. The design work was also done in phases to take advantage of market conditions. | |||

Altamira was hired by the developer to refine the master plan used for zoning prepared by Peter Drey + Company. The zoning plan envisioned 550 homes on approximately 200 acres with 245 acres being donated to Newton County as park land or greenspace. The intent of the original master plan was to create a neighborhood formatted on Traditional Neighborhood Design with narrow streets, sidewalks, period street lighting, street trees, pocket parks and greenspace throughout the development. Altamira was hired by the developer to work with Peter Drey + Company to "fit" the design intent to the land. We reworked the master plan to provide a plan that was environmentally and topographically sensitive with the desired density obtained. The resulting layout is more environmentally friendly and will enhance and preserve the natural beauty of the site. Altamira has been hired to carry the project through construction documentation and permitting. |
